Wall-mounted Elizabeth II postbox, corner of Church Road and Glasshouse Hill, Oldswinford
The Royal Mail have not installed new wall-mounted postboxes since around 1980, so this one has been here for quite some time. The box was manufactured by W.T. Allen & Co. of London and their name appears at the bottom of the box.

Building on corner of Castle Grove and Church Road, Oldswinford
This appears to have been originally a Tudor timber-framed building which has been modified and extended over the years in a variety of styles. Surely, this would not allowed today? In my opinion, it looks quite ugly.

The Castle, Old Swinford
This is a bizarre looking building - something of a cross between a tudor manor house, a medieval castle and a 1950s block of flats. It is in fact grade II listed and is much larger than it appears in this image. Its listing description gives an early 19th century date and refers to the mullioned fenestration, the mock barbican gatehouse and the embattlements and turrets 'throughout'. It also says the building is 'of little intrinsic merit'. Internally it is divided into apartments.

Swinford Old Hall, Stourbridge
A lively facade framed by giant pilasters in which almost every window has a scrolled lintel and keystone. Grade II listed. I think conversion to flats may just about have been completed when this photo was taken. A two-bedroom flat is currently (2013) on the market for £225,000.
