The Mitre, Lower High Street
The Mitre or The Mitre Inn, as it used to be called, is on the corner of Lower High Street and Crown Lane. According to a BBC website for the Black Country, this pub is "a large establishment, the Mitre is famed for its rock music and attracting a more 'gothy' crowd". The site reports it also has meeting rooms upstairs. Image

The Mitre (pub sign), Lower High Street
This sign is on Lower High Street. There is a similar sign hanging on the Crown Lane frontage. It seems the pub was originally called The Mitre Inn, and on the sign photographed, on the wooden beam above the sign, it is possible to read the words "The Mitre Inn" in a rather old-fashioned script. The Mitre, Stourbridge
Built in 1934 to replace an earlier pub. The name which has been running for 200 years or more does not appear to reflect any local connection with bishops. It is now on the edge of the pedestrianised area of the town centre.
