People Mover heading back uphill
The single-car shuttle unit that now operates the Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town branch (less than a mile long) is the experimental Parry People Mover. So far, this is the only National Rail line on which they are used. Here it is seen ascending the steeply graded branch back to the main line.

Access road temporary closure notice
The access road to Age Concern & the nearby church had to be closed for a few hours to allow for one of the new Parry light rail vehicles to be delivered to the adjacent Stourbridge Town branch railway. The process will have to be repeated when the second Parry vehicle is delivered.

Parry People Mover 139 002 passing under Parkfield Road bridge
The Parry People Mover has just left Stourbridge Town Railway Station, and is on its way to Stourbridge Junction Railway Station. It is housed in a depot there, with its sister vehicle 139 001. Only one vehicle is required to operate the service. The other is a reserve.

These vehicles are equally suitable for running on track in streets as trams. There is a lot of interest in possibly extending the track from the Town station further into Stourbridge's central area. That is not something which could happen quickly for both legal and financial reasons. However it would be hugely less expensive than providing an electric tram, and no overhead wires are required.
