1
Goesland Steam Sawmill, Neen Savage
This was owned by one Arthur Butterworth, manufacturer of bespoke furniture. One steam engine drove a sawbench and the two here were just for the owner's fun. It was workable in 1984 but we have heard nothing since and "google" finds nothing. Any update would be welcome.

This is the main building. An open sided shed containing a circular saw bench driven by a small steam engine just visible in the distance.

Field and Ditton Priors Railway
The wood at the foot of this field is on an embankment and trackbed of the Cleobury Mortimer and Ditton Priors Light Railway. An unlikely route into sparsely populated Southeast Shropshire, it earned its keep transporting stone quarried on Brown Clee and latterly serving an arms dump in Ditton Priors. The military use ensured its survival into the 1960s.
