Pewterers Alley, Wribbenhall, Bewdley, Worcs
This narrow lane or alley is a turning off the B4190 road, not far from Bewdley Bridge. The alley gets its name from the fact that pewter items were once made here. Indeed there is still a building further up this lane known as Pewterer House, which offers holiday accomodation.A pair of 17th century cottages which once stood in this lane were moved and rebuilt at Ombersley in 1841 and still stand there today. See this May 2011 photograph by Eirian Evans:- Image There is a pewter workshop in Bewdley Museum in Load Street.
