Mill Green, Lyme Regis
Lym House 1 Mill Green in front of us is a 19th century Grade II Listed house. Formerly a dame's school and Lym Guest House. (Dame schools were an early form of a private elementary school usually taught by women and often located in the home of the teacher, they were quite varied; some functioned primarily as day care facilities overseen by illiterate women, while others provided their students with a good foundation in the basics.) The white house is 23 Sherborne Lane 19th century and also Grade II Listed in a group with 19th century No.22, the pink house, 22A (out of sight) and Lym House. (See also Image).
