Towards a bend in Cobb Road, Lyme Regis
Part of the long steep ascent from the beach to the A3052 Pound Street. Cobb Road is steeper beyond the bend, where Ordnance Survey maps show two chevrons indicating a gradient of 20% (1 in 5) or steeper.

John Fowles Path name sign, Lyme Regis
On the wall on the east side of Cobb Road. John Fowles (1926–2005) was an English novelist of international stature. His Victorian-era romance The French Lieutenant's Woman (1969) was set in Lyme Regis, where Fowles lived for much of his life.
