There is no gorge, the name derives from the d'Gorge family who once owned the land.

Shipton Gorge: postbox № DT6 94, Peas Hill
The more northerly of Shipton Gorge's two postboxes, this one is clasped to a wooden post and is emptied at 4pm on weekdays and at 8:30am on Saturdays.
