Cliffs below Blacknor Bridge
The railings of this footbridge can just be seen in the middle distance, below the building on the sky line. The clifftop path here has been closed for 300 or so metres, since I think 2013, because the scree below the cliffs has become unstable and it is feared that the cliffs will collapse without warning. Blacknor Fort
The fortress was built in 1900-02 as a coastal defence overlooking Lyme Bay to defend Portland Harbour and the other naval institutions on the island. The fort was operational during both World Wars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacknor_Fort
