Stockwood: sign for England?s smallest parish church
Although reputed to be the smallest parish church (see Image), Stockwood church is not actually smaller than a person, as depicted on this sign. The symbols are, of course, standardised and it is not meant that the smallness of the church is reflected in the sign. See Image for the whole sign.

Bridge to St Edwold's Church, Stockwood
This delightful little church in Dorset is considered to be the county's smallest. Rebuilt in the 15th Century, it is designated a Grade I Listed Building. The dedication to St Edwold (9th century) is unique in Dorset. Edwold was the brother of St Edmund the Martyr, King of East Anglia, and he lived as a recluse at nearby Cerne after his sibling’s death. It is not entirely clear why Stockwood church is dedicated to Edwold, but it is thought that he may have also had a cell here as well as at Cerne. (Wikipedia)
