Disused Car showroom Charlton Marshall
This empty showroom is on the main A350 from Blandford Forum to Sturminster Marshall. It was once part of a thriving garage and car repair site. On the opposite side of the road can be seen the burnt out ruin of a house which was destroyed by fire one month previously on Wednesday 11th April. The house had been recently refurbished and it had smoke alarms fitted but they were not working. The couple who lived there managed to escape by jumping out of a first floor window. Bus stops on A350 between Littleton and Charlton Marshall
These two stops seem oddly placed, on the edge of the village ahead. However, there are further stops further along, and these serve houses and businesses at Littleton

Charlton Marshall: postbox № DT11 53 and phone
These two red objects used to be outside the village shop – they have not been moved; the shop was demolished and replaced by dwellings a few years ago. The village post office, after a period of closure, was in the parish hall in the centre of the village from 1994 to 2008. The old shop, here, may well have been the previous location of the post office. The postbox is emptied at 11:30am, Monday to Saturday.
