The village school, Winterbourne Kingston
Something of a rarity these days - a functioning village school: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/458052 The room under the high gable and the white-painted section beyond no doubt house the teaching accommodation and school hall, while the cottages nearer the camera were probably intended for a teacher and caretaker.

Village school, Winterbourne Kingston
The big six-light window, indicating a high ceiling, makes it pretty clear that this is - or once was - the village school (probably dating from late Victorian times). A fellow contributor confirms http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/458052 that it still serves its original purpose. The cottagey extension to the left was probably intended as accommodation for a schoolmistress, and perhaps for the school caretaker.
In the left foreground, the churchyard wall.
