Trafalgar Way - twelfth post-horse change
Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the journey of Lt John Richards Lapenotiere of the schooner Pickle by post-chaise from Falmouth to the Admiralty in London with the official dispatches for the victory at Trafalgar. This is the twelfth of twenty one stops along the route.
The plaque is attached to the wall of the Greyhound Inn.

Built post-fire by the Bastard brothers as the Red Lion Inn, the pub now occupies a much smaller building behind. Listed Grade I.

A relic of the time the building was the Red Lion Inn, the pediment's tympanum contains an elaborate foliated cartouche of a heraldic lion.

Greyhound Inn
