The shutters and "For Sale" sign on the Post Office make it look as though another rural facility is about to vanish.

On the corner of Front Street and High Street, diagonally opposite the post office (Image) the corner building was a "Mace" store in the 1960's and 70's when I lived in the village. Note the filled-in doorway, by which was a Payne's Poppets vending machine (6d a box) back in the late 1960's.

A little further west up the High Street is this house which was known as the Top Shop when I lived in the village in the 1960's and 70's. It was always the best one for sweets!

Looking west up Ulceby High Street from outside Image, the brick built house on the right used to be Mr Bell's bicycle shop which also sold penny and tuppenny packets of stamps for young boys like me in the late 1960's!
