The Grimsby Cordage Mill seen here from Convamore Road was built in 1899. Now largely destroyed by fire, this was one of the largest cordage mills in England designed specifically for the production of twine and nets for the fishing industry.

Norbert Dentressangle's Grimsby Depot in Ladysmith Road
Now almost a household name, Norbert's surname caused some confusion when his trucks started coming to this country. I first became aware of him in the 1970's, when he became known in the trade as "Norbert Dressing-table" or even "Norbert Disentangle".
