Lion in the gateway to Weelsby Woods
One of two, which not long ago received a makeover following damage by vandals.
The view is eastwards along Weelsby Road to the traffic lights at the junction with Ladysmith Road.

Wojtek the war-loving soldier bear, Weelsby Park, Grimsby (4)
Looking out over a more peaceful world than the one to which he was accustomed.
The bear himself never came to Grimsby but was taken in by Edinburgh Zoo at the end of the war, and passed his last years there.
