Green Lane
With a surface which on the whole made me regret taking this short-cut between the B6420 and A620. Did it again on the way back though!

Rushey Inn Cottages
This was once a substantial inn on what was the Great North Road before this was diverted to serve Retford in the 18th century. The house includes some 15th century work in a basically early 18th century envelope. Margaret Tudor is recorded as stopping here in 1503 on her way north to marry James IV of Scotland. Listed Grade II.

Green Lane, Babworth
Hard to imagine this as the main road between London and the north, but it was just that 250 years ago. This section is named Green Lane and has the status of byway. Either side of the byway section, the road is still Old London Road.
