Lorne House, Queen Street
Designed by Louth architect James Fowler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Fowler_(architect) . Fowler was commissioned to work on improvements to Trinity Hospital but then completed other projects in Retford, mainly for the Trinity Hospital Estate.

Protestant Place, Queen Street
The earliest surviving building in this part of town, erected in 1826. The name apparently was chosen as a reaction to the rising tide of Anglo-Catholicism. Pairs of cottages have been knocked into single, more spacious houses in recent years. Listed Grade II.
