Church of St Margaret, Marton
The west wall of the south aisle incorporates decorative stonework of Saxon origin, variously described as parts of a cross shaft or jambs of an arch. Also visible to the left is the join of the original Saxon nave west wall, including herringbone masonry, with the later aisle.

Church of St Margaret, Marton
View of the interior from the north side. 12th century Norman north arcade pillar with stiff leaf capital in the foreground, 13th century south arcade pillar beyond; 15th century windows in the south aisle. Victorian bench pews. At the left hand edge part of the late Saxon chancel arch is just visible. The church was not open at the time of my visit so I had to make do with views through the windows.
