Meeting their promise - 1
When we left Stockwith Lock, 28 minutes earlier, two private cruisers were going to lock down behind us. Their passing comment was "we'll pass you before Gainsborough". Here is the first of them, meeting that promise. They had slowed down before I took this picture.

Approaching Morton
The buildings on the right, called The Wharf, appear to be new flats in the style of warehouses. We were warned to keep to the outside of bends on the river, because of shoals on the inside. Dead water before this right-hand bend certainly seems to indicate shallows; we headed further left.

Meeting their promise - 2
When we left Stockwith Lock, 28 minutes earlier, two private cruisers were going to lock down behind us. Their passing comment was "we'll pass you before Gainsborough". Here is the second of them, meeting that promise. They had slowed down before I took this picture. The speed immediately beforehand was impressive.
