Footpath up the hill
The town centre and older parts of Gainsborough stand on a narrow strip of land to the east of the River Trent and a line of low hills. This footpath links that part of town with the newer suburbs at the top of the hill.

Steps in Gainsborough Cemetery
Gainsborough cemetery has several different levels linked by steps and ramps. It makes for a very interesting experience wandering around it as the layout is not immediately clear. If the monuments were a little more sophisticated this could rival Glasgow's Necropolis as a piece of cemetery landscape (well, almost !).

Path to the edge
Gainsborough Cemetery is on several different levels which gives it an exciting appearance. This footpath seems to run to the edge of a cliff (not quite the reality) with only the distant Trent Valley beyond.
