At the entrance to the easternmost entrance to Barton Cemetery, the War Memorial, unveiled 3 April 1921. The text on the plinth reads: 'In the Glorious Memory of 165 gallant men of Barton-on-Humber who gave their lives for King and country in the Great War 4th August 1914. 11th November 1918. And 48 men and women 1939-1945. "Then from the dawn it seemed there came. But faint as from beyond the limit of the world. Like the last echo born of a great cry. Sounds as if some fair city were one voice around a king returning from his wars." Tennyson Grade II Listed Building https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1423065
