Grosvenor Street and the Crosby Stone
Street scene in Old Crosby, the railings and tree at the junction of Grosvenor Street and Ferry Road hide the Crosby Stone. An early 19th century curiosity placed here at the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901, thus restoring good luck to the village of Crosby

The Crosby Stone
The plaque reads: Here lies the Crosby Stone This stone dates from before the 19th century when Crosby was still a village. It was placed here in 1901 at the coronation of King Edward VII. According to local tradition good luck was thus restored to Crosby.
