Hailgate House
The front of this house is surprisingly restrained and elegant considering that it was built in 1840. Built as a private residence, but has also been local authority offices and a care home in recent years. Now divided into apartments.

Howden Hall
The eastern end of the Georgian brick mansion originally built in the reign of William and Mary on Flatgate, Howden, near the junction with Station Road. Howden Hall was the manor house of a small manor called Paradise, purchased in 1702 from the Belt family by the Worsops who occupied the manor for 147 years. The arms of the Worsop family are depicted in one of the windows of Howden church.

Howden Hall
The Hall, seen from Flatgate, was built as ‘the house of a small manor called Paradise’. Mainly Georgian, it may have its origins in the 17th century. The Worsop family lived here for 147 years and added many rooms and features including rare panelling in the dining room. In 1864 the Yorkshire Show was held on the ground behind the house. Around 1900 a grand ballroom was added.
