Mansion House, High Street, Doncaster
By James Paine, 1744-49, for Doncaster Corporation. The splendid design with gilded Corinthian columns and Venetian window is derived from one by Inigo Jones for Whitehall Palace. In 1801 William Lindley replaced a full-width pediment with the present attic storey. Fine interiors (Image], Image]). Grade I listed. Originally intended as a place where the mayor could entertain during race meetings, it is still owned by the council and used as a venue for various events as well as occasional council business.

Doncaster Mansion House
Built for the Mayor of Doncaster as a residence and place where he could entertain visitors. Work began on it in 1745. It is a Grade I listed building with a facade designed by James Paine.
