Bridge 72, Lady's Bridge, Chesterfield Canal
The towpath now known as the Cuckoo Way - and here it runs below Cuckoo Hill. According to the lady we met the bridge was provided to give access from Wiseton Hall to the Gardens for the ladies of the house, without passing public roads.

Old Man Bridge
More correctly Lady's Bridge, but called Old Man Bridge because of the carvings on either side of the parapet. This is within the Wiseton Hall estate. The carving is very worn but the shape of the old man's bearded head can be seen. For close ups of the carvings see Image] and Image]

Lady's Bridge
Bridge no. 72 on the Chesterfield Canal. More ornate than most canal bridges it appears to be a link between Wiseton Hall to the south of the canal, and Wiseton Gardens to the north. The original Wiseton Hall was built in 1771 but demolished and rebuilt in the 1960s.
