Lime Kilns, Harmby Quarry
The limestone quarries at Harmby appear to have been worked since at least 1840, and this group of kilns date from 1856. This was lime burning on an industrial scale, with the lime being transported by rail. A short spur from the Wensleydale line ran into the quarry, taking quarried stone and lime.
