Sheep pasture, Redmire
Viewed from the public footpath which approaches the village from the north (from the former railway line) one of the village infields is used as sheep pasture. The footpath follows an old field boundary.

Once the village school, this building has now been converted into a house. The nearest primary school is now probably in Leyburn.

Footbridge over Apedale Beck
A smart new footbridge erected by NYCC over Apedale Beck at Redmire. Built high above the beck on strong foundations to avoid damage by spate floods which are quite common here.
