Applegarth Car Park
Car parking is free in Northallerton. It is a market town in rural North Yorkshire and relies on people coming to shop here. Short stay car parking in the High Street and half of this car park is controlled by cardboard parking discs. Just set the time you arrive and you have two hours parking for free. Other spaces are available (further from the shops) for longer term parking. The building in the centre is part of Barkers Dept Store. Walking between the black metal bollards to the right takes one to the tourist information centre.

Barkers Arcade
The arcade provides a covered walkway from the large free Applegarth car park into the town. It follows the long narrow linear burgage plots that form the town from mediaeval times (though this is modern). On the left is Barkers departmental store. The arcade includes several shops on the right hand side and emerges in the High Street under the Barkers Clock opposite the Black Bull. To view from the other end see Image
