Supermoon over Romanby Golf Course
The distance between the moon and the earth varies periodically. Between 220,000 and 254,000 miles. A 'supermoon' is the name given when this distance is at a minimum. At 18:22 pm this evening it was the closest the moon has been to earth for fifty years. This photo was taken at 18:51 when the moon was a spectacular orange colour.
