The White Swan, Danby Wiske
Village pub which has recently been closed and advertised for sale. The good news is that it is soon to reopen with real ales and food, which is ideal for hungry/thirsty Coast to Coast walkers and for locals. So many village pubs are closing these days that it is refreshing to hear of one reopening and adding to the life of the community. [November 2009]

Danby Wiske
The small settlement, particularly its pub, The White Swan seen here, is much affected by the influx of walkers on Wainwright's Coast to Coast route.
