Sam Turners, Northallerton
A mecca for farmers, Sam Turners sells everything agricultural from check caps to chain saws. There is a garden centre outside, across which wafts the wonderful smell of bacon sandwiches from the upstairs cafe.

The Mount
For many years the town's maternity hospital, but possibly built as a private house. A grade II listed building. Google searches suggest it stopped being used as a maternity hospital around 1988. Outbuildings have already been demolished. It may be being developed as an old people's home.
