North Lodge, Windlestone Hall
Designed by Ignatius Bonomi, (1787-1870) English architect and surveyor of Italian ancestry. Bonomi was responsible for many of the principal buildings in County Durham. This building is now sadly neglected and largely overgrown.

North Lodge, Windlestone Hall
A neo-classical lodge with a Doric portico at the northern entrance to the 19th century Windlestone Park and Hall. The lodge is in a poor state of repair with a lot of damage to the roof. Windlestone Hall School is a local education authority special residential school.

Stretch of abandoned road
The length of abandoned road is immediately on the south side of the A689 close to Windlestone Hall and was surely isolated when that road was realigned.
