'Evening Star' at Darlington station
The occasion was the sesquicentenary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway. 'Evening Star' 92220, was the very last steam locomotive built by British Railways.

Preserved locomotives at Darlington
Great Northern Railway Atlantic and Single locomotives were on show at Darlington station for the sesquicentenary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, which was opened in 1825.

Down freight passing Bank Top Station, Darlington
View southward, towards York etc.; ex-North Eastern East Coast Main Line. At Darlington Bank Top, the Through lines, mainly for the intensive freight traffic, were located on the east side of the Station, which actually was on a loop to the west; the Marshalling Yard and Goods Depot was on the left (east) in this view. The locomotive is BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92193.
