Eden Bus depot, West Auckland
For some years recently 'The Eden' company has been exclusively a coach hire firm. Village chat now has it returning shortly to providing scheduled bus services. In the 1950s it had a number of routes, such as between West Auckland and Aycliffe via Coundon.

Staindrop Road, West Auckland
Staindrop Road is in the southern part of West Auckland in County Durham; the view is northwards, towards the centre of the village. On the grass verge to the road there are two telephone wiring cabinets and beyond them a stone block cut with a large letter C, presumably a boundary stone.
