Houses of Coundon Grange from minor road through Eldon
There's a complex collection of villages and hamlets close to Bishop Auckland and Shildon with an equally complex pattern of roads connecting them; it's hard to decide where places begin and end. It's certain however that the image was recorded from a road in the hamlet of Eldon and it's believed that the houses across the fields are part of Coundon Grange.

Road entering Close House from south
The houses of Close House seem to be continuous with those of Coundon Grange but the small settlement still has its own road sign which is of course in blue and yellow and in the format found very commonly in County Durham. There seems to be a particular concentration of such signs in the area between Shildon and Bishop Auckland.
