'Swordfish' at Bishop Auckland
Viewed from the end of the platform at Bishop Auckland West station of the Weardale Railway. The photograph was taken at the time that the heritage line initially ran trains to Bishop Auckland for a two-year period, ending in 2012. Services between Witton-le-Wear and Bishop Auckland were then suspended because of subsidence between the two stations. The line was repaired and services to Bishops Auckland were reinstated in 2018.
'Swordfish' is an ex-Southern Region diesel locomotive modified for push-pull operation on the Weymouth line. It is currently hired to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in Derbyshire Image
