Muker Literary Institute
The lead mining industry brought great wealth to Muker and the Literary Institute reflects this. It was built in 1867 from public subscription and by the end of the 19th century contained 600 books. It has an ornate Flemish style stone facade.

Muker Literary Institute
The building dates from 1867 and is grade II listed (list entry 1203739). At the time of my visit to the village it was not open but there was a banner for a craft exhibition.
