Memorial Hall, Middleton Tyas
Erected after the first world war in memory of the fallen, and as thanks for those who returned, this acts as the village hall and also the local shop which is tucked around the back. On this particular day it was also a polling station for a local election, although there is no queue at the door.

Village green, Middleton Tyas
A small green near the centre of the village with a small sundial and a rather nice old North Riding signpost. Good to see these still in use and not replaced by some dreadful modern 'tin' version. Old maps show a maypole here as well.
