Front Street in Castleside
The A68 main road runs rightthrough the centre of the village. It carries a lot of traffic to Northumberland and Scotland and often busy, as here. The Fleece Inn can be seen at the top, where the road bends to the right.

Former pub being converted
This was The Smelters Arms pub in Castleside. It closed down, like so many local pubs and now appears to be in the process of conversion to residential use.
