Watling Woods bench, Leadgate
A wood carving and polishing business has been established in a garden adjoining the Consett and Sunderland railway path which also carries the world famous C2C cycle route. Inscriptions on the bench read: "Joe and Mark helped to make me This seat was made by some of us for all of us Can you help? Art-e-factory and care-takers Working together with anyone who cares Carve the bark and polish the spot Have a go - try - but leave me better than you found me!"

St Ives' Road, Leadgate
This street is the main road east from the village crossroads. Of interest is the arched opening in the old stone house, leading through to the rear gardens. There are several of these along the main street.

View looking east along what is the village main street. Some of these houses are Victorian, and one shows an entry which leads to a long close behind the street. Several houses have this rather unusual feature, a survivor from earlier times.
