There is a panoramic view to the north and west from the roadside just south of Tesco's supermarket. You can across to the north side of the Derwent Valley and way up into Northumberland. Of note is the new housing slowly starting to cover the old steelworks site.

Genisis Way from the hillside
The escarpment east of the road has been landscaped and offers great views of the countryside to the west. Housing continues to be built all along the road. This was all once part of Consett Steel Works.

NEW Entrance to Tesco in Consett
Main entrance on Genesis Way. This is all on the site of Consett Steelworks, which closed in 1980. Hence the name "Genesis".
