Entrance to Blackhill and Consett Park
This large attractive public park was gifted to the community by the Consett Iron Company in 1891 as a contribution to the well being of its workers. The blue sign indicates the presence of a cycle route through the park towards Consett town centre.

View over Blackhill from the Promenade
This road on the North side of Consett runs along the escarpment and affords spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, hence its name. Blackhill is in the middle distance with the spire of St Mary's church in the centre.

Former vicarage, Blackhill
This on Laburnum Avenue, beside the Park at Blackhill. It is now a private residence, but was once the vicarage for St Aidan's Church on the opposite side of the road. The church is no longer in use.

St Aidan's Church, Blackhill
On Laburnum Avenue, opposite Blackhill Park. This church is no longer in use and has been sold off. However, it appears to be deteriorating at the moment, with no sign of any work taking place. The church was completed in 1885 and the tower added in 1903. Hopefully, the building will eventually be restored.
