Colliery tip in valley of Hedleyhope Burn
The tip is adjacent to the burn and to the Durham Wildlife Trust reserve at Hedleyhope Fell. The brickwork remnant is possibly a relic of the working mine.

Hay Bales or Giant Snooker Balls?
Spotted from Hedleyhope Nature Reserve. In the evening sun the plastic wrapped hay bales have more than a passing resemblance to giant snooker balls. There are no pubs nearby ;-)
The farm on the hillside to the left is Lane Foot.
