Moor Leazes Farm
This farm stands on the hilltop above the village of Lanchester. The farmhouse, on the right of the group of buildings, seems to be a C20 replacement. Although the farm dates back to the early C19, nothing of the original buildings seems to have survived.

Outbuilding at Moor Leazes Farm, Lanchester
This picture shows something very rare in this area - a date on a farm building. There is a concrete insert between the doors on gable end of the building with the date of 1932 inscribed. I assume this was the building date. In several years of walking round this part of County Durham and viewing dozens of farms, this is only one of a very few date inscriptions I have found. I can only assume that as farms are very practical places, nobody bothered with anything as fancy as a date inscription.
