Chester-le-Street Station, ECML 2002
View southward, towards Durham, Darlington, York and the South: ex-NER York - Newcastle section of the East Coast Main Line, electrified 1990. Since 1999, the station has been operated by an independent PLC as agent to National Rail - hence the smartness.

A dubious honour?
Sir Frank Pick https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Pick certainly had connections with the railway network, but a toilet as a memorial? It would be nice to have an explanation! If he saw the state of the loos he would certainly not be impressed.
