Lewis Street Gospel Hall, Stranraer - March 2018
Originally Stranraer Free Church built 1843-44, the front was remodelled in 1845-46 by Hugh McDowell. Stranraer Free Church was formed at the Disruption in 1843 and the congregation met for worship in various places until this Church was built. It was renovated in 1890. The Free Church united with the United Presbyterian Church in 1900, when this became St Mark's United Free Church - which united with Ivy Place United Free Church in 1926 to form St Andrew's United Free Church (now Trinity Church, Stranraer - see:Image] ). This building was then sold to the Christian (or Plymouth) Brethren to become the Lewis Street Gospel Hall.
