Village Store, Kirkinner
Not only the general store and general grocers but the post office as well. This is a typical set up for the small villages dotted around the Machars where one shop has several functions to serve the local population and also meet the needs of tourists and farmers passing through. The store has been run for more years than they care to mention by John and Mary McCourtney and if they haven't got something in stock they'll get it for you. The road past, the A746 runs down to Whithorn.

Kirkinner Bowling Club, Kirkinner
View of this well kept outdoor lawn bowling green from the churchyard of Kirkinner Parish Church which backs onto the club. Not likely to be many disturbing noises from this side of the green, although the road on the other side is a different matter! Most villages in the Machars seem to pride themselves on having immaculate village bowling greens.

Village Store, Kirkinner
One of the main hubs of activity in Kirkinner. A place where you can still buy a stamp, packet of fags, lightbulb, loaf of bread and the Sunday papers.
