Old Milestone in Glenluce
Milestone by the UC road (old A75), in parish of Old Luce (Wigtownshire District), West end of Glenluce, at junction with UC road to New Luce, leaning against low wall in front of 'Welcome to Glenluce' sign.

Old milestone
The A75 by-passed Glenluce a number of years ago. This milestone had, at one time, a larger plate with destinations mentioned possibly London, Port Patrick, Stranraer and Dumfries. This replacement plate reads N. STEWART/16/STRANRAER/10.

Old milestone
A pleasant place to rest but the milestone is leaning and the planters have been neglected. The shape on the Welcome plaque is the disused railway viaduct over Water of Luce. This was the Castle Douglas to Port Patrick railway built in 1863. Abandoned long ago.
