Male Seed
The view here is across Main Water Bridge in New Luce and I had no idea what this object was right of picture until I enquired in the Village Shop Image] and they were very helpful. This artwork is one of four individual sculptural installations that read together as one overall work and was created by Matt Baker. This is one of two seeds, the other female seed being at the side of Cross Water Bridge which is just on the other side of the village http://sacrificialmaterials.blogspot.com/2010_06_20_archive.html Matt Baker suggests that the viewer is invited to speculate that should the Seeds ever be released into the water they might be rejoined together in the Turn Wiel, the swirling salmon pool that exists where the Cross Water and the Main Water of Luce merge http://sacrificialmaterials.blogspot.com/2010_10_03_archive.html
